Postgraduate training course on Monitoring, Information and Modelling for River Basin Management

Date: 14 - 17 October 2014

Location: CVAWR, Da Nang, Vietnam

Description:

The workshop aimed at strengthening the practical and technological knowhow of professionals in Water Monitoring, Hydrological Modelling and Data Management as well as enlarging cooperation partnerships with university and business partners in the water sector. The training course had the following objectives:

- Provide an insight in key aspects of an integrated river basin management to water related professionals and scientists

- Teach key aspects about monitoring, information and data management and hydrological modelling.

Stakeholder Workshop on Dry Season and Flood Season Risk Management

Location: Da Nang, Vietnam
Description:

A stakeholder Workshop on Dry Season and Flood Season Risk Management was hold by EE+E (RUB) on June 12th 2014 in Da Nang in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River Basin Information Center (132 Dong Da Str., Hai Chau, Da Nang). Objective of the workshop was the discussion of simulation scenarios to be calculated with the developed dry season model and the flood season model. Representatives of the Quang Nam province and of Da Nang and members of the Vietnamese Academy for Water Resources, Hanoi took part. Training Workshop - Drought impacts: Irrigation management on River Basin Level

Date: 31 March to 1 April 2014
Location: VAWR, Hanoi, Vietnam
Description:
The workshop took place at the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources in Hanoi and aimed to present the key aspects of the DRM. Special focus was on drought and irrigation management considering governance, socioeconomic and natural sciences, technical issues such as improving hydro-meteorological monitoring and alert systems, statistical probability analyses for the occurrence of climatic extremes, impacts of hyropower development on droughts as well as methods for drought vulnerability assessment.

LUCCI Consortium Workshop in Da Nang

Date: 28 March 2014
Location: Da Nang, Vietnam Academy for Water Resources
Description:
The LUCCI Consortium Workshop took place at the Central VAWR in Da Nang. Discussion topics were: scenarios, strategies and implementation. Furthermore, the next steps were discussed.

LUCCI Stakeholder Workshops in Tam Ky and Da Nang

Date: 24 - 27 March 2014
Location: Tam Ky and Da Nang, Vietnam
Description:

The workshops took place in Tam Ky and Da Nang. The working results and processes of each working group were presented and meetings with various stakeholder were part of the programme. A visit to the new LUCCi project office at Central VAWR and at the planned VGTB river basin information Centre in Da Nang was planned.
